Dear President Bush:
 
Myself and my husband are Republicans and have supported you
throughout your Presidency even though we have not always agreed with
your politics.  Today during your news conference you mentioned,
once again, that illegal immigrants were here working on the jobs that
American’s do not want.  This is totally untrue.  Maybe a time
long, long ago that was the case, but it has not been so for years. 
The illegal immigrants have taken jobs away from Americans in 
irrigation, house framing, sheet rocking, landscaping, roofing, brick
laying, concrete laying,etc etc. Basically  jobs related to
construction.  These were good paying union jobs at one time but the
illegal immigrants have taken them over and stagnated the pay
scale.  We have a brother who had to leave California because of
this very reason as the pay scale dropped once illegal immigrants could
be hired for 1/2 or less pay to do the job that Americans were
doing.  We find it hard to believe that the Congress and yourself is
so unformed that you are not aware of this fact.  Why is it that no
one ever speaks about the responsibility of Mexico to take care of their
people so they won’t have to cross illegally to find work.  Mexico
has oil and gold, silver and other means to provide for their
people.  You also mentioned today about the solder whose grandfather
was from Mexico and how proud he was to serve America in the
military.  I’m sure his grandfather more than likely assimilated to
this Country and did not go around waiving the Mexican flag demanding
rights as we are witnessing with today’s ILLEGAL immigrants.
 
The war in Iraq is another subject for another time. 
We have been supporters to you and feel that most Americans support you,
however the unsettling comes from the fact that nothing seems to be
getting accomplished.  I guess the American Public is under the
misconception that Americans Get Things Done.  We need to see some
accomplishments or have our officials reporting what accomplishments have
taken place to offset the negative media’s reports.
